This beginner-friendly program is ideal for anyone curious about scuba diving and wanting to try it out before committing to a full certification. It’s not a certification course, but you’ll still get to experience real diving in the ocean!

This entry-level scuba experience is your first step into the underwater world. Designed for absolute beginners, the Discover Scuba Diving program combines a short safety briefing with in-water practice and a real ocean dive — all without the need for certification.

In just a few hours, you’ll learn how to use basic scuba gear, breathe underwater, and move safely and comfortably while diving. After mastering a few essential skills in shallow water, you’ll try scuba diving for real with a guided ocean dive up to 40 ft (12 m), led by a certified instructor.

It’s a fun, low-pressure way to discover if scuba diving is right for you — perfect for travelers, families, or anyone curious about what lies beneath the surface.

Before the Dive:

  • Meet your instructor at the dive shop at the scheduled time.
  • Attend a short briefing covering basic dive theory and safety procedures.

During the Experience:

  • Practice basic scuba skills in shallow water (pool or confined water) with your instructor.
  • Enjoy two guided ocean dives up to 40 feet (12 meters).

What is a Discover Scuba Dive?
It’s a beginner scuba experience that allows you to try diving under the direct supervision of an instructor—no certification required.
Yes, with a Discover Scuba program, you can try scuba diving safely without a license, guided by a professional.
We offer Discover Scuba dives from shore at Lauderdale-By-The-Sea and Riviera Beach, both with easy, beginner-friendly entry.
The whole experience takes around 2.5 to 3 hours, including briefing, gear setup, training, and the dive itself.
Basic swimming ability is recommended, but you don’t need to be an expert swimmer. You should feel comfortable in the water.
No, this is not a certification course. It’s an introductory experience. If you love it, you can continue with an Open Water Diver course!
Yes, children 10 years and older can participate with parental consent. It’s a great family activity!
