What is the difference between a scuba diver and an open water diver?
A Scuba Diver certification limits you to 40 feet and requires diving with a professional. Open Water Divers can go up to 60 feet and dive independently with a buddy.
Open Water Divers can dive to 60 feet with a buddy, rent gear, and join guided dives worldwide.
It means you are certified to dive in open water environments without direct supervision.
Typically 2-3 days plus online theory, depending on the schedule and student pace.
You need to complete at least four qualifying open water dives to get certified.
The maximum depth for Open Water Divers is 60 feet (18 meters).
Once you’re certified, a whole new world opens up! 🌍 You can dive with friends at stunning locations around the globe, join our local club dives here in Florida, and become part of an adventurous dive community. Explore shipwrecks, reefs, and marine life anywhere your travels take you—or come along on our group dive trips to incredible destinations worldwide. It’s your passport to underwater discovery and lifelong connections.
