This entry-level certification course is your gateway to the underwater world. Designed for absolute beginners, it combines self-paced online study with hands-on training in the pool and open ocean. Over just a few days, you’ll gain the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to dive safely and confidently—anywhere in the world.
Phase 1: Flexible Learning (Online Theory)
- Easily learn scuba diving principles and terminology online, at your convenience.
- Interactive eLearning modules accessible via computer or mobile device.
- Complete at your own pace (approximately 5–10 hours).
- Expert support from your instructor whenever needed.
Phase 2: Practical Training (Pool & Ocean Dives)
- Gain hands-on experience in a safe pool environment with professional guidance.
- Conduct “mini dives” to practice essential skills and build confidence.
- Participate in four exciting open water dives under your instructor’s supervision at local dive sites such as spectacular shipwrecks off Lauderdale-By-The-Sea.
Before the Course:
- Complete the online eLearning modules and knowledge review at your own pace before the in-water training.
Day 1:
- Meet your instructor and go over sidemount gear setup and configuration.
- Make two open water dives focused on trim, buoyancy, gas management, and safety procedures.
Day 2:
- Continue skill development with two additional open water dives in a different environment or location.
- Refine your technique, improve efficiency, and gain confidence in sidemount diving.
- Receive your SDI/TDI Sidemount Diver certification upon successful completion of all course requirements.
Configure and use sidemount diving equipment.
Improve buoyancy with sidemount setup.
Handle gas-sharing in sidemount dives.
Optimize weighting for sidemount gear.
- Certified SDI Open Water Diver or equivalent
- Minimum age: 18 (15 with parental consent)
- Completion of a medical questionnaire
